This property in Oakdale, Blackwood had previously been flooded, resulting in extensive water damage to the Pitch Pine parquet flooring

The flood caused many of the parquet blocks to ‘cup’, where the edges of the wood lay higher than the middle, causing very uneven flooring, as well as dark patches and areas of entirely loose blocks

Our first port of call was to re-lay the parquet where the pattern was missing. We then extensively sanded to reduce areas of warping and ensure a flat, smooth surface once again. Finally, we protected and perfected with premium wood care products to reveal the beautiful grain of the wood once more, as well as keeping it safe from further damage. A very satisfying transformation if we say so ourselves!

This lovely Pitch Pine Parquet in Abergavenny dates back to the Victorian era, and was showing its age a little with a dark stain and some surface damage!

Whilst the wood itself was in pretty decent condition considering its age, the stain was uneven and hid the wood’s natural grain and character. There was also some unevenness in the herringbone blocks, giving the flooring a bumpy appearance. However, some necessary repairs, a thorough sanding and clear lacquer had this floor looking as good as new, enhancing its heritage and grain pattern

This recent customer in Llantwit Fardre had lovely Oak Plank flooring in their conservatory that had been the victim of too much sun!

Whilst in pretty good physical condition, this customer had a rug down for several years and, once moved, noticed that the sun had bleached the surrounding flooring.

UV light from the sun can cause wood to lighten (or sometimes darken) over time – the original wood colour can be seen in the rug area!

To prevent this from happening, it is important to move rugs or floor coverings around periodically to allow the wood to be evenly exposed to light

Our most recent job was the repair and restoration of this stunning Oak Mosaic flooring in Newbridge!

Having been hidden under carpet for a quite a while, the Oak was in fairly good condition – except for missing blocks along one wall

After sourcing matching blocks to continue the existing mosaic pattern, we extensively sanded to get rid of imperfections in the wood and remove the old carpet underlay and adhesives, followed by premium wood care treatments to enhance and perfect for years to come

We’ve just completed this job in Llandaff that consisted of THREE different types of wood flooring across four areas – mixed pine floorboards, pine parquet and oak parquet

Whilst all the different floors were not in the worst of conditions, there had definitely been a build up of scratches and accumulated some dirt over many years – in particular the stairs, which had seen different stains, paint and carpet in its time!

The team brought it back to life with precision sanding, a deep clean between the boards and blocks and treatment with premium wood finishing products, leaving all the floors looking refreshed and healthy once again

We recently completed the renovation of these lovely Pine floorboards in Bargoed!

These floorboards had been covered with a thick, dark stain that didn’t let the true character of the wood show through and made the space feel a little outdated.

Sanding the boards really showed how dark and opaque the original stain was, and allowed our team to see where small gaps were in need of filling.

Once we’d got the wood back to an even, healthy state, we then went in with a dark stain that enhanced the wood and it’s grain, instead of hiding it!

This beautiful Pitch Pine Parquet had definitely seen its fair share of wear and tear over the years – loose blocks, scratches and dents, and a build up of inevitable grime

After we repaired the loose blocks, we began with precision sanding, deep-cleaning and fine-grade wood polishing before following up with professional wood-care products to treat and perfect the wood for years to come

Our recent customer in Ebbw Vale not only had a lovely oak floor in need of our services, but also a solid timber fireplace mantel beam!

The oak plank flooring wasn’t in the worst condition our team has seen, however, there were a few dings and scratches to smooth out, and our customer didn’t like the dark stain.

We brought both the flooring and the mantel back to life with precision sanding to remove the previous stains and any blemishes in the wood, a thorough clean between the planks and finally treatment with premium wood finishing products, leaving the wood looking refreshed and looking a little more modern
